All Target stores to stock the Kindle starting June 6th

Update: Even though your local Target might have the Kindle on sale starting this weekend, you might want to wait until August when an improved model is rumored to arrive.

Target’s experiment with being the first brick-and-mortar store to sell the Kindle was a success, so the company is expanding it to all locations, according to a BusinessWeek article.

The biggest sales problem with the Kindle, in my view, is that unless you happen to borrow someone else’s device you can’t get a hands-on experience of it until after you buy it. I think this will be a great opportunity for curious consumers like my mother, who lives in a town in Texas with a Target and who has never seen the Kindle in person before.

If your local Target isn’t already selling it as part of the pilot program, just wait until June 6th, then head to the electronics section. Target says the Kindle will be in a special location at the end of an aisle there, and will be “available for customers to handle.”
