Calendar Pro turns Kindle into a basic appointment book

Calendar Pro for KindleAlthough I don’t write about Kindle Apps Active Content much anymore, I’ve read enough requests from people for a calendar app that I thought this new title was worth sharing.

Calendar Pro is a pretty basic scheduling tool. You won’t find any syncing capabilities or reminders to set, and the first (and otherwise positive) reviewer says he wishes you could set up recurring events, but if you need a robust calendar you almost certainly already have some other mobile device (or, if you’re of a certain generation, a day planner ha ha ha). Calendar Pro is meant for more casual users — one customer mentions that she’ll use it to keep track of birthdays, while another one says she’s using it to jot down notes about date-specific things like dreams or conversations.

Mainly, the good thing is that it’s finally a way to have access to a functional calendar without having to apply the screensaver hack, and without resorting to one of those badly formatted calendar “books” people sell on the Kindle Store.

It’s currently $0.99. As with all of these apps it’s for the U.S. market only, but if you’re feeling creative you can always change your billing address to a U.S. address and it might then work.
