Free screensavers: Cthulhu Wordle madness!

As I’m sure you know, every passing year brings us closer to the day when the Great Old Ones reclaim this world, and perhaps the most beloved GOO of all is good ol’ Cthulhu. Watch out for his flabby claws! Yes, Lovecraft actually used the phrase “flabby claws” when describing him, which is why most Lovecraft is best read at high speeds while thinking of something else.

Sadly, “flabby” did not make it into this Wordle word cloud, but I will admit I manipulated the text a little in order to make sure “Cthulhu” loomed over all the other words.

~~I’ve been working on a Cthulhu drawing.~~ Update: I finished my drawing of Cthulhu and turned it into a screensaver. The original is very detailed, but because my drawing skills are limited it came off looking kind of stupid. After I ran it through some iOS apps I got this cartoon-ized look that I think works:

Halloween screensavers for your Kindle

Raargh! Blaaarrrh! Slurp! And then whatever sound a pumpkin monster makes–something squishy, I imagine. Here are several spoooky screensaver images for your enjoyment. In general, I tried to use darker shades to better suit the theme, but that means they may lack detail on older screens. They look pretty great on the Kindle 3 “Pearl” screen, however (especially on a graphite-colored model).
