A reader named Scrapper sent in this tip: if you’re a fan of mysteries, especially ones that take place in early 20th century Britain, you might be interested in two upcoming short stories from mother/son writing team Charles and Caroline Todd. The authors are releasing new full-length (and full-price) novels soon, and to help promote them the publisher is giving away a couple of short stories. The stories won’t be available for a few more weeks, but you can pre-order them now so they’ll show up on your Kindle on the release date.
(Just be sure to confirm that they’re still free when your pre-order kicks in.)

On a tangential note, I find this Charles Todd “brand” fascinating. It seems clear that he and his mother write the books together (see this interview and note the use of “we” for all the answers) but officially only the son’s name is used on the books. Now I want to put these two people in separate rooms and interview them individually, to find out who really does the web spinning, ha.
