It’s June 1st, and if you’re at all like me, you’re still reading on a Kindle running the 2.3.3 software (switch to your “Settings” screen and look in the lower right corner). Back in April, Kindle announced the 2.5 update and said it would be wirelessly sending it out to customers in the latter half of May. So where is it?
The developers are “making some small adjustments,” according to Amazon:
We’ve rolled out the 2.5 software release to a set of Kindle customers and have received great feedback from these early customers. Based on this feedback, we are making some small adjustments to improve the experience further. We will be rolling out the 2.5 software update to more users over the coming weeks.
Sigh. Maybe in June, eh?

Yeah, I’m kind of shocked at how no one is talking about this. Not being able to meet your deadline is one thing, but giving new functionality to a large chunk of your customers and telling the others they have to wait for an undetermined amount of time is complete BS. Unless this is going to brick my DX, give me my 2.5!

Wow! Customers are really pissed off! We really blew it and we’re working hard to fix our mistakes! No way we’re going to release this crap yet!

Customers are complaining all the time. Trust us, if you think it’s bad now, wait until you get the update!

We have no idea when we are going to release this stuff; it needs way too much work!
